Shaun Beaubien

Doon, IA Shaun Beaubien, age 37 of Doon, IA died April 15, 2008, at Sioux Center, IA. Funeral services will be 2:30 p.m. Saturday, April 19, 2008, at Our Saviors Lutheran Church at Rock Valley, IA with Rev. Jim Demke, officiating. Visitation will be Saturday from 1:00 p.m. until services time at church. Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids in charge of arrangements. Shaun Timothy Beaubien was born July 6, 1970, at Sylmar, CA the son of Donald and Kathleen (Balster) Beaubien. Shaun grew up in Garretson, SD, where he attended school. Shaun worked at various places and mainly he lived in northwest Iowa and southwest Minnesota. He was united in marriage to Vanessa on January 8, 2005, at Las Vegas, NV. The newly wed couple made their home in Doon, IA. He and Vanessa enjoyed riding motorcycle and scouting out gravel roads for wild flowers and asparagus. Shaun was very outgoing, witty, intelligent, supportive and very helpful, he always had many friends. Shaun loved the outdoors, he enjoyed trapping, going fishing and camping. This past Tuesday, April 15, 2008, Shaun died at Sioux Center, IA. He is survived by his wife, Vanessa of Doon, IA; daughter, Desirae Beaubien of Primghar, IA; mother, Kathleen Beaubien of Ellsworth, MN; father, Donald Beaubien of Tecumseh, OK; brother, Donald (Dodi) Beaubien of Luverne, MN; sister, Danielle Beaubien of Sioux Falls, SD; Grandmother, Donna Balster of Ellsworth, MN; mother-in-law, Sharon Chick of Doon, IA; along with many uncles, aunts and cousins. Shaun was preceded in death by his grandfather, Edward Balster; uncle, Eugene Balster; and cousin, Tony Reese.
