William Bill Ver Hey, age 85 of Hills, MN died, Tuesday, May 1, 2007, at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday., May 4th at the Hills United Reformed Church in Hills, MN. Burial will take place at the Hills United Reformed Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, May 3rd from 2 " 8 PM, with the family present from 6 " 8 PM at the Roste Funeral Home of Hills, MN. William Bill Ver Hey was born on May 5, 1921, to Job and Cornelia (Muezelaar) Ver Hey. He was raised on the family farm in Rock County near Hills, MN. Bill attended Hills Consolidated school in Hills. After his education he helped his parents work the family farm and also helped other area farmers as a hired man. His parents retired and discontinued farming in 1947 and Bill started his career in construction. He was quite handy with fixing things and skilled as a builder. Bill did carpentry work locally and later worked for Dakota Concrete for many years before his retirement. One of Bills pastimes was to drive his pickup around town keeping up on what was going on. He was a Minnesota Twins fan and enjoyed watching them play. Bill also liked watching old westerns on tv. Bill lived in Luverne for 10 years before moving back to Hills in 2004, when he entered the Tuff Memorial Home. On Tuesday May 1, 2007 Bill died at the Tuff Memorial Home at the age of 85. Bill is survived by three brothers; Frank and his wife, Martha Ver Hey of Sioux Falls, SD, Cornie Job and his wife, Pat Ver Hey of Sioux Falls, SD and Leonard and his wife, Dorothy Ver Hey of Lennox, SD; many nieces and nephews and great- nieces and great-nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters and two brothers.
