Carolyn Irene Stoup

Rock Rapids, Iowa Carolyn Stoup, age 92 of Seattle, WA, formerly of Rock Rapids, IA died Monday, October 14, 2013 at Ida Culver House in Seattle, WA. Inurnment with graveside service will be at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 20th in Riverview Cemetery at Rock Rapids. Carolyn Irene (Baustian) Stoup was born November 22, 1920, the daughter of Inga Mary (Olson) and Albert Wesley Baustian. Carolyn grew up in Rock Rapids graduating from Rock Rapids High School in 1938. She worked for Bell Telephone Company in Rock Rapids and transferred with them to Burbank, CA where she lived with her oldest sister. Carolyn was united in marriage to Dale M. Stoup of Inwood, IA on May 9, 1945 in Burbank, CA. They moved back to Iowa briefly before returning to Southern California where they raised their family. Carolyn was a life long Methodist and Sunday School teacher. She was an avid seamstress and enjoyed quilting, crossword puzzles, reading novels and traveling with her husband. In 1991 they returned to Rock Rapids where they lived until Dales death in 2001. Carolyn then moved to Seattle to be near her daughter. She is survived by her daughter, Karla (Bill) Center of Edmonds, WA; son Chuck (Lesley) Stoup of Oakland, CA; grandson David (Christine) Center of West Seattle, WA; grandson Steve (Jean) Center of Mukilteo, WA; and twin great-granddaughters Lilian and Madeleine Center of Mukilteo, WA. Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, Dale; her parents, five sisters and two brothers.
