Little Rock & Sibley, IA LeRoy Roy Rachuy age 93 of Sibley, IA died Thursday October 11, 2012 at the Sibley Nursing & Rehab in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 13, 2012 at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, with Reverend Scott Burdsall officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, with military honors by the Buss Johnson American Legion Post No. 316 of Little Rock. Visitation will be Friday, October 12th from 4-7p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. LeRoy Fredrick Rachuy was born on November 18, 1918 to William and Tena (Nachtigal) Rachuy near Little Rock, Iowa, where he attended country school. He was confirmed in the Viola Township Lutheran Church. He was drafted in to the U.S. Army in 1944, where he served in Hawaii. He farmed many years north of Little Rock with his brother Harold and good friend Ed Lewis. Together they formed a strong relationship that lasted their entire lives. LeRoy married his long time love Bernardina Odens on April 27, 1977 at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. They spent their married life in Sibley, enjoyed many winters in Texas. She passed away on May 5, 2003. He enjoyed Dinner Date, playing cards, pool, Polka music and always had time to go fishing. He was a member of the Buss Johnson American Legion Post No. 316 of Little Rock for sixty-seven years. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock. He entered Sibley Nursing & Rehab on November 2008, where he passed away on Thursday, October 11, 2012. Survivors include, special friends, the Gary and Janet Christians family; two nieces, Phyllis (LeRoy) Buss of Little Rock and Ercel Dykstra of Worthington, MN; and two nephews, Howard Rachuy of Worthington, MN and Virgil (Bette) Rachuy of Little Rock. He was preceded in death by his wife, Bernardina; his parents; and three brothers, Harold, Ernest and Vestie Rachuy. In lieu of flowers memorials would be preferred to the: First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock.
