Sibley, Iowa Marie Doll, age 81 of Sibley, Iowa died unexpectedly, Tuesday, July 28, 2009, at her home in Sibley. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, August 1, 2009 at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, with Fr. John Vakulskas as celebrant. Burial will follow in the St. Andrews Catholic Cemetery at Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Friday, July 31st from 2:00 " 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 " 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. There will be a rosary at 5:00 p.m. and a prayer service at 7:30 p.m. Marie Joyce (Gasper) Doll was born on May 20, 1928 in La Crosse, Wisconsin, the daughter of F. William and Helen (Schaller) Gasper. She attended country schools and graduated in 1946, from Cashton High School in Cashton, Wisconsin. She was a member of the St. Peter Catholic Church in Middle Ridge, Wisconsin where she married Albert J. Doll on August 31, 1949. The couple moved to Dubuque, Iowa in 1952, where Al was employed with the Soil Conservation Service. They then moved to Sibley in December of 1954, where Al continued with the Soil Conservation Service. Marie was a member of the St. Andrews Catholic Church; active with the Catholic Daughters of America, St. Andrews Guild and served as a Eucharistic Minister. She was registered with the Boy Scouts of America for many years and was awarded the St. George Emblem in recognition, by the Catholic Church. She was also awarded the Silver Beaver, for service to the Boy Scouts of America, from the Prairie Gold area of the Boy Scouts of America Council. Marie is survived by three children: Michael (wife, Lois) Doll of Rosemount, MN, Timothy (wife, Michele) Doll of Dunnell, MN and Patrick (wife, Heidi) Doll of Sibley, IA; seven grandchildren: Kristin Doll (husband, David Zabinski), Cassandra (husband, James) Hart, Megan Doll, Alekos Doll, Christopher Doll, Lyam Doll and Billy Doll; one great-granddaughter, Lorelai Doll; four brothers: William (wife, Kathleen) Gasper of Dubuque, IA, Thomas (wife, Charo) Gasper of La Crosse, WI, Daniel (wife, Suzie) Gasper of Newark, CA and Stephen (wife, Sharon) Gasper of Cambridge, WI; four sisters: Muriel Doll of La Crosse, WI, Helen Heying of Chesterton, IN, Marjorie Schmitt of Coon Rapids, MN and Barbara (husband, Dennis) Mlsna of Cashton, WI; one sister-in-law, Mona Gasper of Bloomer, WI; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Al; son, William; infant daughter, Kathleen; two brothers, Dennis and Carl Gasper; sister-in-law, Delores Gasper; brothers-in-law, Virgil Heying, Robert Schmitt and Vernon Doll; two nephews, Steven Mlsna and Nicky Schmitt.
