Kenneth Krull

George, Iowa Kenneth Krull age 72 of George, IA died Monday, September 25, 2006, the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids, IA. Memorial services will be at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 28th at Hope Reformed Church, George, IA. Burial will be held at 9:30 a.m. at Evergreen Lawn Cemetery prior to the memorial service. Visitation will be Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. with the family present from 4-8 p.m. at the Roste Funeral Home of George. Kenneth James Krull was born January 25, 1934, on a farm north of George, the son of Harm and Rachel (Stubbe) Krull. Kenneth grew up on the family farm and attended Liberal #6 School just a half mile east of their farm. Kenneth was united in marriage to Arlys Goldhorn on September 8, 1954, at the Bethel Reformed Church Parsonage. In March of 1956, he and Arlys moved by Little Rock and in 1962, they moved to a farm north of George. In 1969, they moved to the Family Century Farm where they lived until 2000, at which time they moved into their present home in George. Kenneth loved farming, raising livestock and was a dairyman for forty years. He had served on the consistory at the Hope Reformed Church where he was an active member. He also served on several boards and held many positions in northwest Iowa, such as the AMPI Director, DHIA Board and the Osceola Co. Rural Water Board. He was active with the Kiwanis Club in George, the Lyon Co. Historical Association, the Hope Haven Wheelchair Repair in George and the George Coop Oil Board. He and Arlys enjoyed spending time with their children, grandchildren and their new great grandchild. They also enjoyed going on several Freedom Club Tours and liked playing cards with family and friends. This past Monday morning, Kenneth died at the Merrill Pioneer Community Hospital in Rock Rapids at the age of seventy-two. He is survived by his wife, Arlys of George; three children, Kalene Diephuis and her husband, Jim of Rochester, MN; Rick Krull and his wife, Mary (Chase) of Fonda, IA; and Korey Krull and his wife, Val (Shaffer) of Rock Rapids, IA; daughter-in-law, Janice Krull of George; along with ten grandchildren, four step-grandchildren; and one great grandchild; two brothers, Filbert (Alvina) Krull of Enumclaw, WA; and John (Eldora) Krull of Rock Rapids; and one step-brother, Art (Shirley) Krull of George, IA. Kenneth was preceded in death by his parents, Harm and Rachel; step-mother, Sena Krull; son, Rodney; grandson, Benjamin Diephuis; sister, Tressa and brother-in-law, Ben Aning; and father and mother-in-law, Eilert and Anna Goldhorn. Kenneth gave in death, as he gave in life. Kenneth was a tissue donor.
