Vicki Harr

Rock Rapids, IA Vicki Harr age 40 of Rock Rapids, IA, died unexpectedly Sunday, July 6, 2014, at her home in Rock Rapids, IA. Public visitation will take place Friday, July 11, 2014 from 4 PM to 8 PM with family present from 6 PM to 8 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, IA. Inurnment will take place at a later date. Vicki Harr was born January 27, 1974 in Rock Rapids, IA to Rick and Donna (Van Voorst) Niessink. She was raised in Rock Rapids and graduated from Central Lyon High School in Rock Rapids. She continued her education at Sheldon NWICC first receiving her LPN, Licensed Practical Nursing, degree and then continuing on to earn her RN, Registered Nurse degree. She worked for several years at Rock Rapids Health Centre and then to a Slayton, MN nursing home as Director of Nurses. In 2010 Vicki was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS) which eventually caused her to stop the work she loved. She was very passionate about her nursing career and was always more than willing to go out of her way for anybody that needed her. Vicki was a cat lover, huge fan of NASCAR and small town racing. She had an abundance of "adopted" children and was very kind hearted. Vicky loved her family very much. When she was younger, she loved riding in the semi with her Dad. She will be greatly missed and fondly remembered. She is survived by her son, Rykker Harr of Rock Rapids, IA; parents, Rick and Donna Niessink of Rock Rapids; and other extended family members. Vicki was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lubert and Tena (Buma) Niessink; and Richard and Lucy Van Voorst.
