Alvin Otto Griesse

Rock Rapids, Iowa Alvin Griesse, age 85 of Sioux Falls, SD, formerly of Rock Rapids, passed away recently at the Akron Care Center where he was residing. A private family service will be held at a later date. Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids is in charge of arrangements. Alvin was born on the family farm near Rock Rapids, Iowa to Otto and Frieda (Schoeneman) Griesse. Alvin was married to Elfreda Brinkhouse. They had two children Gary and Sharon. Alvin farmed for many years until his retirement on the family farm. Alvin enjoyed wood working and repairing almost anything. Alvin is preceded in death by his parents. Alvin is survived by his wife, Elfreda, his children, Gary (Joy) Griesse and Sharon (Richard) Ries; five grandsons, Trent (Sarah), Nathan, Derek (Libby), Tyson (Teri) Griesse, Randy (Melissa) Ries and seven great grandchildren.
