Lois Crane

Rock Rapids, IA Lois Crane, age 84 of Rock Rapids, IA died Saturday, September 20, 2014 at the Rock Rapids Health Centre. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014 at Holy Name Catholic Church in Rock Rapids, with Father Bruce Lawler as celebrant. Burial will follow in the Holy Name Catholic Cemetery in Rock Rapids. Visitation will be Tuesday, September 23rd from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids. There will be a Vigil service at 7:00 p.m. that evening. Lois L. Crane was born October 8, 1929 in Manning, IA to Chris and Anna (Wiese) Hargens. She was married to Howard (Bill) Crane of Denison, IA on December 7, 1947. She had worked for Raven Industries in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for 23 years. She retired in 1998 and moved to Rock Rapids, IA when her husband became ill. Lois is survived by two sons, Steven (Debbie) Crane of Rock Rapids, IA and Doug (Peggy) Crane of Crooks, SD; daughter, Jacki (Michael) Russell of Melvin, IA; six grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; one sister LaVonne of Sacramento, CA; and one brother Billie of Perry, IA. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Bill; one son at birth; five brothers; and two sisters.
