Okoboji, IA Betty Mataloni age 87 of Okoboji, IA formerly of Ashton, IA died Friday, January 9, 2015 at the Lakes Regional Hospital in Spirit Lake, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 14, 2015 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford, IA, with Father Tom Flanagan & Father Timothy Hogan concelebrating. Burial will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Ashton, IA. Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford, IA. Betty Lou Mataloni was born on December 27, 1927 in Brewster, MN, the daughter of Otto and Lola (Slocum) Radke. She grew up in Brewster and graduated from Brewster High School. On April 26, 1950, Betty was united in marriage to Al Mataloni in Clear Lake, IA. The couple made their home in Ashton, IA, where they owned and operated the Cedar Cabin for forty-six years. Betty and Al then moved to Okoboji, IA. Al passed away on April 30, 2006. Betty was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Milford, IA, where she had been active with the Catholic Daughters of America for a number of years. She was an avid sports fan, enjoyed playing Bridge and Cribbage; and especially spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed. Betty is survived by three children: Dick and his wife, Connie Mataloni of Sibley, IA, Paula and husband, Paul Juffer of West Des Moines, IA, and Al, Jr. and his wife, Suzie Mataloni of Urbandale, IA; eight grandchildren: Teresa (Joseph) Herriage, Angela (Charles) Dusbabek, Rebecca Mataloni, Ben Juffer, Nick Juffer, David Mataloni, Allison Mataloni and Andrea Mataloni; and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Al Mataloni; and son, David Mataloni.
