Sibley, IA Shirley M. Dickinson age 86 of Sibley, IA died Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, March 17th at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sibley, Iowa. Burial will be at 1:30 PM Tuesday, March 17th at the St. Margaret's Cemetery in Spirit Lake, IA. Visitation will be Monday, March 16th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. There will be a Vigil service at 7:30 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home Monday evening. Shirley Hawkins Seivert Dickinson was born June 5, 1928, in Sibley, Iowa, the daughter of Manley Sr. and Hazel (McElroy) Hawkins. She grew up in Sibley and attended Sibley Community School and graduated in 1946. After her education she worked for ten years at Farmer's Coop Elevator as a bookkeeper. In 1964 she moved to Storm Lake, IA and worked at Embers Bar & Grill as manager for several years. In 1982 she moved to Spirit Lake, IA and returned to Sibley in 1988 to care for her parents. She was a member of St. Andrew's Catholic Church and a member of the VFW Women's Auxiliary in Spirit Lake. She enjoyed fishing with her late husband, and bowling league in Sibley. Shirley was very proud of her five grandchildren and eight great grandchildren. Shirley is survived by two daughters, Diann Seivert Cooper and her husband, Dick, of New Oxford, PA, and Nancy Seivert Koehn and her husband, Tom, of Cedar Falls, IA. She also has a sister, Patricia May and her husband, Roger, of Savage, MN; a sister-in-law, Audrey Hawkins of Sibley, IA; and nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her husband, Dee Dickinson; her parents; brother, Manley Hawkins Jr.; and a sister, Betty Hawkins Zimmerman.
