Myrna M. Lamfers

Ashton, IA Longtime resident of Ashton, Iowa: Myrna Lamfers, 91, of Tucson Arizona, died Monday, March 16, 2015 at the SonLight Home Care facility in Marana, Arizona. Services will be held on Saturday, June 13, 2015, with Inurnment at 10:00 AM at Gilman Township Cemetery in Ashton and a Memorial service at 10:30 AM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Ashton. Myrna was born January 12, 1924 daughter of Wessel and Tillie Loerts on her family's farm near Sibley, Iowa. She graduated from Ashton High School in 1941 and married Delmar (Duke) Lamfers in 1946. They farmed near Ashton until retirement. They moved to the Tucson area in 2001. Myrna was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church at Ashton, she participated in various community activities, enjoyed quilting and investigating the family ancestry. She is survived by one son, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren: Daryl and BJ Lamfers of Tucson, AZ, Dawna (Daniel) Davis and their son Kaid of Peoria, AZ, Sara Franz and her children Delmar and Leilani of Tucson, AZ, Dirk (Jenni) Lamfers and their son Dylan of Tucson, AZ; one sister, Marilyn (Edward) Markus of Cheyanne, WY; one sister-in-law, Ruth Loerts of Sibley, IA; and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband Delmar, son Dale, and brother Wayne Loerts.
