George, Iowa Mildred Hensch, age 90 of George, Iowa died Thursday, June 25, 2015 at Praire View Home in Sanborn, Iowa Funeral service will be 2:00 P.M. Tuesday, June 30th at St. John Lutheran Church at rural Boyden with Pastor Daniel Hart, officiating. Burial will follow at St. John Lutheran Cemetery at Boyden. Visitation will be Monday, June 29th from 2:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George. Mildred Julia Hensch was born June 7, 1925, on a farm near George, Iowa, the daughter of Meta (Pape) and Claus Herman Hensch. She was baptized on June 28, 1925, and was confirmed on April 21, 1939 at St. John Lutheran Church at Boyden. Mildred grew up on the family farm and attended St. John Christian School at Boyden. She lived with her parents on the family farm for most of her life. She had a great appreciation for music and developed that interest by self-teaching herself how to play the piano, accordion and guitar. Mildred has taught countless students music lessons. For many years she tuned, repaired and also restored player pianos. She was a loving aunt. Her nieces have many fond memories of her and they will greatly miss her. Her kind heart was often shown thru her great compassion and her loving care she gave her mother as she aged and needed care to stay in her own home. Mildred loved spending time outdoors and helped on the farm. Mildred died this past Thursday evening, June 25, 2015, at the Prairie View Home in Sanborn at the age of ninety. She is survived by her nieces, Eunice (Maynard) DeBoer and family of Archer; Yvonne Leonard and family of Sibley; Phyllis (Odean) DeJong and family of Hull; Carolyn (Leon) Korthals and family of Boyden;Jolene (Paul) Peterson and family of Stevenson Ranch, Ca; Donna (Kenneth) Rohde and family of Boyden; along with her nephew Leland (Norine) Kruse and family of George. Mildred was preceded in death by her parents, Claus and Meta; brother, Hannes Hensch and sister, Elsie Kruse; nephews, Marlin Kruse and Arnold Snuttjer.
