Sibley, IA Henry Bents age 72 of Sibley, IA died suddenly, Thursday, July 9, 2015 at his home in Sibley. Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 13, 2015 at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, with Reverend Terry Simm and Pastor Brian Schafer officiating. Military honors will be by the George E. Mudge American Legion Post No. 324 and William F. Allard Post No. 7373 of Sibley. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service on Monday at the church. In lieu of flowers memorials will go to First Presbyterian Church, LifeScape and Village North West. Henry Allen Bents was born in Sibley, IA on January 16, 1943 to Jennie (Bierma) and Henry Cornelius Bents. He attended the Holman #8 Country School through eighth grade, and then graduated from Sibley High School in 1961. In the fall of 1964 Henry enlisted in the Army and served his country for six years. Henry married his wife Twilla (DeGraaf) in August of 1996, and then their journey together began. They had nearly nineteen years of wedded love and laughter. Henry's love of his Lord and family came first and farming was his way of life. He enjoyed restoring old tractors and loved spending time in his new shop and having treasured friends pop in to see what he was working on. Henry was a member of the First Presbyterian Church all his life. The most important thing to Henry was his relationship with Christ and the love of his family. Left to cherish his memory are his wife Twilla, his daughters Kristen (Ryan) Bolger of Sioux Falls, SD, Michele (Mark) Brandenburg of Waukee, IA, Stephanie Bents (Bob Verschoor) of Sioux Falls, SD, and son Ryan Bents of Sioux Falls, SD, also his stepsons, Mitch (Mandy) Wynja of Sheldon, IA, Matt (Jackie) Wynja of Sioux Falls, SD, his grandchildren: Nathan, Jenna, Micah, Taylor, Bailey, Ryder, Evan, Kyler, Kemper, and Brody, his mother Jennie Bents of Sibley, and his sisters Carol (Dennis) Quaal of Eagle Lake, MN and Lori Bents of West Des Moines, IA. Preceding Henry's death was his father Henry.
