Sibley, Iowa Elaine Ditto, age 83 of Hubbard, IA, formerly of Sibley, IA died Saturday, July 18, 2015 at the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, July 21, 2015 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA, with Pastor Judith Johnson officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be one hour prior to the services at the church Tuesday morning. Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley is in charge of services. Elaine Christine (Sleeper) Ditto was born on November 23, 1931 in Worthington, MN, the daughter of John and Anna (Timmermann) Sleeper. She was baptized on March 20, 1932 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Viola Township near Sibley and confirmed on July 30, 1944 at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley. Elaine attended grade school for two years in Round Lake, MN, then she and her family moved to Sibley where she completed her education, graduating from Sibley High School in 1949. During her high school years she was employed at the Max Theatre in Sibley. After high school she worked as a secretary for Gowen-Attig Insurance and Real Estate and at the Chamber of Commerce for two years. Elaine also worked at the ASC Office for one year. On August 2, 1952, Elaine was united in marriage to Rex Ditto at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley. The couple was blessed with two children, Jerry and Linda. After Elaine's husband Rex retired in 1984, they moved to Pharr, TX. Elaine and Rex resided in Pharr for six month of the year and traveled in their motor home for the other six months. They attended Our Savior Lutheran Church in McAllen, TX, while living there. While Elaine and Rex where living in Sibley, Elaine was a past member of the Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church and the Princilla Circle, VFW Auxiliary, Cub Scout and Brownie Scout Leader in the 1960's, and past member of the Osceola Community Hospital Auxiliary. Elaine is survived by her daughter, Linda Harness of Ames, IA and son, Jerry (Carla) Ditto of Annandale, MN; five grandchildren, Jeremy Ditto, Shane Harness, Jessica Ditto, Sondra Harness, and Joel Ditto; three great-grandchildren, Alex Ditto, Christian Ditto and Mylah Harness. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rex and her parents, John and Anna Sleeper.
