Sibley, Iowa Jeanette Wolter Davids, age 95 of Sibley, IA died Sunday, August 2, 2015 at the Sibley Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Sibley. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Friday, August 7, 2015 at the First Baptist Church in Sibley, IA, with Pastor Doug Noonkester officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Thursday, August 6th from 2:00 to 8:00 p.m., with the family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley. Jeanette Wolter Davids was born on March 5, 1920 near Sanborn, Iowa, the daughter of Sam and Minnie Mellema. She attended school in Ocheyedan, Iowa. On October 22, 1943, she was united in marriage to Clark Wolter. The couple farmed near Allendorf, Iowa and to this union three children were born: Marlin, Donna and Debra. Jeanette's husband Clark died on July 19, 1954 and Jeanette continued to live on the family farm until 1969. She married John M. Davids on December 30, 1970 in Sibley. John later passed away on September 8, 1975 in Sioux City, Iowa. Jeanette was employed for many years at grocery stores in Sibley and Allendorf and always enjoyed visiting with the customers and her coworkers. She liked to crochet, quilt, sing, and spend time with her family and friends. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley. Jeanette moved to the Sibley Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in the fall of 2009, where she loved all the activities and socializing. She will be remembered as a caring, loving mom and grandmother, with a strong faith and positive attitude, who enjoyed every day. Left to cherish Jeanette's memory are her three children: Marlin (Betty) Wolter of Ocheyedan, IA, Donna (Larry) Mastbergen of Fort Collins, CO and Debra (Stan) Hankins of Colorado Springs, CO; six grandchildren and nine great grandchildren: Clark (Jefferie) Wolter and their daughter, Elliot of Fort Collins, CO, Adam Hankins (Eva Benavidez Clayton) and their daughter, Gabriela of Lausanne, Switzerland, Lesa (Nathan) Leinen and their three daughters, Ava, Autumn and Ambrey of Ankeny, IA, Daniel (Jessica) Mastbergen and their children, Sage and Colin of Loveland, CO, Adrienne (David) Cooper and their children, Royce and Charlotte of Fountain, CO and Amy Wolter (Julien Janigo) of Los Angeles, CA; one step grandson, Michael Smith of Myrtle Beach, SC; one sister, Leona Eshuis of Lynden, WA; one brother, Warren (Fran) Mellema of Omaha, NE; two sisters-in-law: Patricia Mellema of Sun City, AZ and Creta Mellema of Denver, CO; many nieces and nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Sam and Minnie Mellema; first husband, Clark Wolter; second husband, John M. Davids; five brothers: Clarence, Stanley, John (Jeanette's twin), Kenneth and Sidney; three sisters: Jeanette Mellema, Gertrude Bosma and Dorothy Van Dyke; step-daughter, Judy Smith; and step-son, Jack Davids.
