Marlow Dean Johnson

Rock Rapids, IA Marlow Johnson, age 65 of Rock Rapids, IA passed away Friday, October 2, 2015 at the Sanford Hospital of Rock Rapids. Memorial service will be 1:30 p.m. Monday, October 5th at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Rock Rapids, with Reverend Dan Kordahl officiating. Burial will follow in the Christ Lutheran Cemetery in Alvord, IA. Visitation will be Monday, October 5th, one hour prior to the memorial service at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids, IA. Marlow Dean Johnson was born on July 11, 1950 in LeMars, IA, the son of Earl and Elsie (Kruse) Johnson. Marlow grew up in the tristate area in northwest Iowa. Marlow completed his high school education and then attended Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA for a year. He worked various jobs through Hope Haven in Rock Valley, IA and lived in Rock Rapids, IA. After his health declined he moved to Lyon Manor Nursing & Rehabilitation Center in Rock Rapids, IA. Marlow enjoyed watching sporting events on TV, especially the Minnesota Twin and the Minnesota Vikings. Marlow is survived by four siblings: Darlene Eeten of Rock Rapids, IA, Donald (Suzie) Johnson of Exira, IA, James Johnson of Luverne, MN and Roberta McKibbin of Lakewood, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, Rodney Johnson; and niece, Anna Joy Kaiser.
