George, IA Norma Jean Koth age 84 of George, IA died Wednesday, October 28, 2015 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 2, 2015 at the First Baptist Church rural George, IA, with Reverend Dr. Mike Hagan officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery in George. Visitation will be Sunday, November 1st from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., with the family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George, IA. Norma Jean Koth was born on August 10, 1931 in George, IA to Raymond and Reka (Bruns) Sudenga. Norma married Keith Koth on June 17, 1955 at the Central Baptist Church in George, IA. To this union, two sons were born, James and Jeffery. Norma graduated from Iowa State Teacher College with a teacher's degree in elementary education. She taught country school in Liberal, Wheeler and Holman Townships. Norma worked as a secretary for the school principal in Ralston, NE, in the administration office in the Richfield, MN schools and in the Cherry Creek School District of Aurora, CO. Her love for music has followed her in all of the churches she was a member of. She and her husband Keith spent nineteen years wintering in Texas and enjoyed being out of the cold northwest. She leaves to mourn her, husband, Keith Koth of George, IA; two sons, James Koth of Port Orange, FL, Jeffery Koth of George, IA; grandchildren, Annie Koth of Omaha, NE, Katie Twomey also of Omaha, Kevin Koth of Orlando, FL, and MacKenzie Koth of Tampa, FL; and great-grandchildren: Miles Martinez and Mason Twomey both of Omaha, NE; sister, Ruth Ann Schrick of Richfield, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; and stepmother, Helen Sudenga.
