Fred "Fritz" Peter Seivert

Sibley, Iowa Fred P. Seivert, age 76 of Sibley, IA died Thursday, November 5, 2015 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Monday, November 9th at Trinity Lutheran Church in Sibley, IA with Rev. Barb Kopperud officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Sunday, November 8th from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m., with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. In lieu of flowers family prefers memorials be directed to: Trinity Lutheran Building Fund Fred Peter Seivert was born December 11, 1938 in Osceola County, IA, the son of Bernard and Mabel (Feenstra) Seivert. He was raised on the family farm near Sanborn, IA He married Marlene Rose Haudenshield at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Sibley, IA. They lived in Melvin and Sibley area. Fred drove truck until 1972 and joined the Osceola County Sherriff Department as a Deputy. In 1986 he returned to driving truck until retiring in 2009. He enjoyed fishing and gardening and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 54 years, Marlene Seivert of Sibley, IA; three sons, Brad (Annette) Seivert of Tracy, MN, Bruce (Brenda) Seivert and Brian (Barb) Seivert, both of Sibley, IA; five grandchildren, Andrew Seivert of Sioux Falls, SD, Kate Seivert of Rochester, MN, Jacob Seivert of Marshall, MN, Leah Seivert of Sibley, IA and Carley Seivert of Sibley, IA; a sister, Marlys (Phil) Britton of Remsen, IA; two brothers, Earl (Carol) Seivert of Sanborn, IA and Mitch (Madeleine) Seivert of Spencer, IA; and several nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Bernard and Mabel Seivert; and a brother, Dennis Seivert.
