Larchwood, IA Joyce Poss, age 54 of Larchwood, IA died peacefully at her home on Saturday, December 19, 2015. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, December 24th at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, IA, with Father Bruce Lawler as Celebrant. Burial will follow at St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery in Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 23rd from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood. Also there will be a 7:00 PM Vigil service at the church Wednesday evening. Joyce Verna Poss was born April 24, 1961, in Worthington, Minnesota, the daughter of Virgil and Eileen (Leibfried) Jeppesen. She was raised in the Bigelow area and attended Sibley Schools. She graduated in 1979. After high school she received her Associate’s Degree from Mankato Business School. She was united in marriage to Larry Poss on March 21, 1981 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley, IA. Three sons were blessed to this union. Together they lived and farmed south of Sibley until 1987, when they moved in to Sibley. They moved to their present home in Larchwood, IA in 2008. She worked at First National Bank, Bosma Poultry and Family Medicine Clinic in Sibley. She was a member of The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, active with the Catholic Daughters of America and other church functions in Sibley. She enjoyed reading, word games, classic movies, shopping, playing with her grandchildren and planning trips. Most of all, she cherished her time with her family. She is survived by her husband of 34 years, Larry Poss of Larchwood, IA; three sons, Landon Poss, Bennett (wife, Allison) Poss and Jordan (wife, Emily) Poss; two grandchildren, Jack and Thea Poss; two brothers, Jim (wife, Mary) Jeppesen of Sioux Falls, SD and Jay (wife, Kim) Jeppesen of Sibley, IA; two sisters, Judy Sievert of Estherville, IA and Jane (husband, Neil) Steffl of Okoboji, IA; parents-in-law, Dallas and Lorraine Poss of Sibley, IA; and many nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Virgil and Eileen Jeppesen; and brother-in-law, Doc Sievert.
