Larchwood, Iowa Margrite Moser, age 84, of Larchwood, IA died Monday, April 4, 2016 at Primrose Retirement Community in Sioux Falls, SD. Funeral service will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, April 8th at the United Church of Christ in Larchwood, IA, with Pastor Kelly Volk officiating. Burial will follow at Larchwood Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, April 7th from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the United Church of Christ in Larchwood. Margrite Moser was born June 10, 1931 in Munich, Germany, the daughter of Johan and Maria (Brandhofer) Schumacher. She was raised and attended school in Munich. On December 8, 1955, she was united in marriage to Robert Moser, Sr. in Munich, Germany. They moved to a farm northeast of Larchwood, IA. There she helped with the day to day farm work and raised four children. In 1983 Margrite and Robert moved to a farm southwest of Larchwood where they farmed for many more years. She was a previous member of Springdale Lutheran Church near Sioux Falls, SD. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, baking, cleaning, traveling, and farming with Bob. She volunteered for many years at Avera. She also enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s school activities. Her grandchildren and great grandchildren brought her great joy. She was proud that the family farming tradition is being passed on to the next generation. On December 24, 2009, Margrite’s husband Robert died unexpectedly after almost 54 years of marriage. She remained living on the family farm until January 22, 2016, when she moved to Primrose Retirement Community in Sioux Falls. She remained there until her death this past Monday, April 4, 2016. She is survived by her sons, Kurt Moser of Minneapolis, MN, Robert (wife Deb) Moser, Jr., Jeff (wife Connie) Moser, both of Larchwood, IA; daughter, Rosy (husband Jim) Bruggeman of Larchwood, IA; seven grandchildren, Jeremy (wife Julie) Moser of Altoona, IA, Daniel (wife Jaci) Moser of Larchwood, IA, Justine Moser of Minneapolis, MN, Jacob Moser, Vaughn Moser, Nick Bruggeman and Eli Moser, all of Larchwood, IA; four great-grandchildren, Landon, Jackson, Avery and Theo; one sister, Hilde Thompson of Luverne, MN; one brother, Rudy (wife Sandy) Schumacher of Port Charlotte, FL; two sisters-in-law, Bonnie Stavig and Sue Moser, both of Sioux Falls, SD; two brothers-in-law, Dr. Charles Moser of Minneapolis, MN and Dr. Olen Crockett of Lakewood, CO; and many other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Johan and Maria Schumacher; her husband, Robert Moser, Sr.; one brother, Hansi Schumacher; one sister-in-law, Verlys Crockett; and three brothers-in-law, Vernon Thompson, Dick Moser, Jr., and Dave Stavig.
