Troy Lee Nichols

On the afternoon of July 12, 2016, Troy passed away suddenly into the arms of our Savior.  He is at peace with the Lord.Private burial services will be held on July 15, 2016, with Pastor Bryan Anderson officiating.  Troy Nichols, son of Jerry and Lonnie Nichols, was born on December 14, 1965, in Ames, IA.  Troy remained in the home of his parents until the age of 12.  At that time it was necessary to place Troy in Orchard Place, in Des Moines.  Troy graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1983.  Upon graduation, Troy moved to the Mental Health Institute in Cherokee.  Later he moved to Pride Group, which is located on the same grounds.   Troy had many interests over the years, including insects, reptiles, hour glasses, and Walt Disney.    Left to cherish his memory are his parents, Jerry and Lonnie Nichols of Winterset, IA, his sister and brother-in-law, Robin and Dave Lickteig or Cumming, IA, his aunt and uncle, Rolly and Jeannie Jurgens of Coeur d'Alene, ID, and aunt and uncle Jack and Virginia Spangler, of Adair, IA, and several cousins.
