Little Rock, IA Kelli Jo Klaassen, age 50 of Little Rock, IA died Sunday, December 11, 2016 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Wednesday, December 14th at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA, with Rev. Dustin Sperlich officiating. Burial will follow at Pleasant View Cemetery in Little Rock. Visitation will be Tuesday, December 13th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock. Kelli Jo Klaassen was born August 3, 1966 at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Lyle and JoAnn (Schoon) Gerken. She was raised in Little Rock, IA and attended Little Rock Community School. She continued her education at Northwest Iowa Community College in Sheldon, IA, where she earned her LPN Nursing Degree. Kelli Jo was united in marriage on September 27, 1986 to Jeffrey Mark Klaassen at Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA, where they lived all of their lives. Three children were blessed to this union, Chelsie, Krista and Kory. She worked as an LPN at Sibley Nursing & Rehab Center in Sibley and most recently at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley. She is a member of Salem Reformed Church in Little Rock, IA. She enjoyed baking cakes, watching the Hallmark channel – especially Christmas movies. She loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also loved watching her nieces and nephew play high school sports. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Jeff Klaassen of Little Rock, IA; three children, Chelsie (Adam) Wiertzema of Little Rock, IA, Krista (Andrew) Hoyme of Hills, MN and Kory Klaassen of Little Rock, IA; five grandchildren, Kennedy, Jayla, Masyn, Paisley and Madden Wiertzema; parents, Lyle and Jo Gerken of Little Rock, IA; sister, Staci (Rick) Klaassen of Little Rock, IA; sister-in-law, Kelli Lynn Klaassen (special friend Kyle Rosse) of Garretson, SD; mother-in-law, Bernita Klaassen of Little Rock, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her fraternal grandparents, Ben & Elsie Gerken; maternal grandparents, George & Wilma Schoon; and father-in-law, Burdell Klaassen.
