Sibley, IA JoAnn Kruger, age 76 of Sibley, IA died on Saturday, December 17, 2016 at the Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 10:30 AM, Thursday, Dec. 22nd at First Reformed Church in Sibley, IA, with Rev. Luke Schouten officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be Wednesday, Dec. 21st from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. JoAnn Marilyn Kruger was born on June 6, 1940 in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Henry and Beulah (Herding) Buss. She grew up in the Little Rock, IA area and received her education there. After graduating from Little Rock High School she went on to nursing school in Sioux Falls, SD. On January 12, 1960, JoAnn was united in marriage to Richard Lee Kruger at the Trinity Reformed Church in Sibley. JoAnn worked various places throughout her life such as R & J Electric, Chase Bag, Campbells Soup and drove bus for Area 4. She was a member of the First Reformed Church in Sibley, VFW Auxiliary and Fireman’s Auxiliary. JoAnn enjoyed volunteering at nursing homes, doing puzzles, crafting, crocheting, camping and playing solitaire. She especially loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. JoAnn will be greatly missed. JoAnn is survived by her husband of 56 years, Richard Kruger of Sibley, IA; four children: Ryan Kruger of Adrian, MN, Randy (Brenda) Kruger of Lakeville, MN, Julie Jeffers (David Christensen) of Adrian, MN and Jason (Robyn) Kruger of Sibley, IA; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild; four siblings: Gloria Jean (Lynn) Wills of Sibley, IA, LeRoy (Phyllis) Buss of Little Rock, IA, and Susan Wiertzema of Little Rock, IA; brother-in-law, Fred Jurrens of Little Rock, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Henry and Beulah Buss; infant daughter, Kathy Ann Kruger; step-father, Richard Kruse; sister, Mavis Jurrens; and brother-in-law, Harry Wiertzema.
