Sibley, IA Anna Boyer, age 89 of Sibley, IA died Wednesday, January 25, 2017 at the Country View Manor in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 11:00 AM, Saturday, January 28th at the First Baptist Church in Sibley, with Pastor Doug Noonkester officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA. Visitation will be from 10:00 AM until time of the service at the church on Saturday. Anna Grace (Forquer) Boyer was born November 2, 1927, the daughter of Elmer and Agnes (Schwartz) Forquer. She was raised in Geary, OK, where she received her education. On July 3, 1946, she was united in marriage to George Boyer in El Reno, Oklahoma. To this union 3 children were born, William, Barbra and Susan. Anna and her husband moved to Kansas City, Missouri where George worked for the Bemis Brothers Bag Co. where he operated a cylinder press imprinting lettering. The Bemis plant closed in 1965 and George then went to work for the Chase Bag Company. In 1972 the Kansas City Chase Bag plant was closed and a new building for the company was built in Sibley, Iowa. Chase Company offered George a promotion of supervisor to move to Sibley and he later became the manager of the printing department. During George’s career, Anna was a loving wife, mother and diligent homemaker. When George retired from the company in 1988, Anna and George chose to remain in Sibley and have lived there ever since. Anna was a member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley for many years, active in many of the ladies’ gatherings. She enjoyed baking, playing cards, croquet and just being in the outdoors. She especially enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren. In December of 2008 Anna moved to the Nursing Home in Sibley due to failing health. This past Wednesday, January 25, 2017 Anna passed away at Country View Nursing Home in Sibley at the age of 89. She will be greatly missed. Anna is survived by her 3 children, William Raymond (Janie) Boyer of Kansas City, MO; Barbra Ann Reynolds of Spencer, IA; and Susan Kay DeWaay of Sioux Center, IA; 9 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild; and one brother, Robert (Bertha) Forquer of Sacramento, CA. She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Agnes; her husband of nearly 67 years, George; one grandson, Christopher, Van Westen; three sisters and five brothers.
