Sibley, IA Mary Leathers, age 81 of Sibley, IA died on Thursday, February 16, 2017 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA. Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 20th at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, with Reverend Terry Simm officiating. Private family burial will follow at the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday. Mary Ann Wagoner was born on June 16, 1935 in Kansas City, the daughter of Marion and Frances (Wingo) Wagoner. She grew up in the Kansas City area and attended school there. On September 28, 1953, Mary was united in marriage to Robert Leathers in Leavenworth, KS. To this union six children were born: Mary, Terry and Jerry, Garold, Connie Sue and Daniel. Mary worked various jobs throughout her life. She had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Sibley for a time and now had been a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley. Mary enjoyed cooking, crocheting, reading, loved babies and was always willing to volunteer and help anyone in need. She especially loved spending time with her family. Mary is survived by three children: Mary (husband, John) Siscoe of Gardner, KS, Garold D. (wife, Jacqueline) Leathers of Sibley, IA and Daniel E. (Annette) Leathers of Belton, MO; ten grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren; two brothers: Benson Wagoner and Gerald (wife, Cheryl) Wagoner both of Kansas City, MO; several nieces, nephews and other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert Leathers; two sons, Terry and Jerry Leathers; daughter, Connie Sue Leathers; and brother, Leland “Bill” Wagoner.
