Connor Austin Blom

Rock Rapids, IA        Connor Blom, age 23 of Inwood, IA died Monday, June 5, 2017 at his home rural Inwood, IA.        Funeral service will be 2:00 PM, Saturday, June 10th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Rev. Dan Kordahl and Pastor Tim Ryals officiating.        Visitation will be Friday, June 9th from 2:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present 6:00 to 8:00 PM at the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Rapids.        Connor Blom was born on July 25, 1993 in Sioux Falls, SD, the son of Donald and Nicole Blom. He grew up in the Inwood area and graduated from West Lyon High School in 2012. Connor then attended Mitchell Technical College in Mitchell, SD and later graduated in 2016. Connor worked for various farmers in the area and his family. He was recently employed with Guaranteed Roofing. Connor enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, playing cards, watching Disney movies and loved dogs. He liked the outdoors and was always there for anyone that needed his help.        Connor is survived by his father, Donald (Heather) Blom of Inwood, IA; mother, Nicole (Joel) Gruis of Colton, SD; siblings: Christopher (Beatriz) Blom of Tacoma, WA, Sadie (Kyle) Post of Washington DC, Sydney and Cloe Blom, Cierra Avery Gruis and Tristan Clarie Gruis; grandparents, Joseph and Linda Gsthoo of Gun Barrel City, TX and Ron and Betty Gruis of Rock Rapids, IA; grandmother, Nancy Nagel of Rock Rapids, IA; three nephews; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.        He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Arie and Clazina Blom; maternal grandmother, Nancy J. Klith; grandfather, Dixon Nagel; and uncle, Alan Blom.
