Raymond Lee Roning

Hills, MN     Raymond Roning, age 75 of Hills, MN died Thursday, June 29, 2017 at the Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD.     Memorial service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, July 7th the at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN with Reverend Maggie Berndt-Dreyer officiating.     Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church.     Raymond Lee Roning was born on November 4, 1941 in Luverne, MN, the son of Lars and Ida (Kolsrud) Roning.  He grew up in Hills, MN.  Ray worked for Orv’s Texaco in Hills.  Ray enjoyed fishing, collectibles, and watching Twins and Vikings games.  He was very proud of his model railroad he built in his house and liked to show it to everyone.  One of the pleasures in his life was receiving pictures and updates on the lives of his great nieces and nephews.  Ray had a dog named “Dandruff” that he loved very much.     Left to cherish Ray’s memory is his sister:  Pearl Sundem of Hills, MN; many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.     He was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Ida Roning; two brothers, James and Dennis Roning; and one sister, Marcella Schubert.
