Sibley, IA Timothy “Tim” Fisher age 59 of Sibley, IA died Sunday, July 16, 2017 at at his home in SIbley. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, July 20th, 2017 at First Reformed Church in Sibley, IA with Rev. Luke Schouten, officiating. Burial will follow in the Holman Township Cemetery at Sibley, IA. Visitation will be Wednesday, July 19th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 -8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Timothy “Tim” Mark Fisher was born May 25, 1958, in Austin, Minnesota. He was the son of Harold and Matilda (Arends) Fisher. Tim grew up in Ashton, IA and attended grade school in Ashton. He graduated from Sheldon High School in 1976. He married Rhonda Anderson on April 7, 1979 at Tim’s parents’ home in Ashton, IA. To this marriage, Tim became a proud father to Jennifer and Joseph. He was later united in marriage to Amy Schierholz on May 24, 2003, at The Venetian Hotel in Las Vegas, NV. Tim then became Alexander’s dad. They made their home in Sibley. For thirty-seven years, Tim worked for the Osceola County Rural Water System as a water treatment operator. Tim was a member of the Ashton Fire Department. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, playing games, golf cart rides and playing foosball. He was an avid golfer and dog lover. He enjoyed muscle cars and grilling. Tim was a practical joker and loved to surprise people. He had a strong work ethic and took great pride in his work and his family. Some of Tim’s special memories included going to several Tom Petty concerts and attending a Barrett-Jackson carshow. Above all, he loved helping others in any way he could. Tim is survived by his wife, Amy Fisher of Sibley, IA; daughter, Jennifer Kay (Tony) Brezina of West Des Moines, IA; sons, Joseph (Yvonne Beard) Fisher of Cedar Rapids, IA and Alexander Fisher of Iowa City, IA; two granddaughters, Madelyn Kay and Addison Mae of West Des Moines, IA; mother, Matilda Fisher, of Sheldon, IA; two sisters, Becky Fisher of Sioux Falls, SD and Kimberley (Brian) Rons of Primghar, IA and brother-in-law, Jim Monier of Cloverdale, IA. He was preceded in death by his father, Harold; brother, Thomas; sister, Debbie, mother-in-law Gene Ann Anderson, and brother-in-law, Tod Anderson.
