Harvey Rozeboom

Hills, Minnesota            Harvey A. Rozeboom age 81 of Hills, MN died Saturday, August 19, 2017 at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN.        Funeral service will be 1:00 PM, Wednesday, August 23rd at the Steen Reformed Church in Steen, MN, with Rev. Jeremy Wiersma officiating.        Burial will follow at East Side Cemetery in Steen, MN.        Visitation will be Tuesday, August 22nd with family present from 5:00 to 8:00 PM at the Steen Reformed Church of Steen, MN.        Harvey Allen Rozeboom was born on September 9, 1935, the son of Bert and Hattie (Van Batavia) Rozeboom. He grew up in Hills and attended country school there. On June 14, 1957, Harvey was united in marriage to Gertrude Mae Teune. They farmed near Hills and to this union five children were born: Arlin, Harlin, Lowell, JoLean and BernDean. Harvey was a member of the Steen Reformed Church in Steen, MN. His hobbies and interests included farming, fishing, woodworking, and spending time with his family especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Blessed be his memory.        Left to cherish his memory is his wife of sixty years, Gertrude Rozeboom of Hills, MN; four children: Harlin (Yvonne) Rozeboom of Hills, MN, Lowell (Karla) Rozeboom of Garretson, SD, JoLean (Gary) Greenhoff of Pipestone, MN and BernDean (Gary) DeRuyter of Lake Benton, MN; daughter-in-law, Barb Rozeboom of Holland, MN; twelve grandchildren,  four step-grandchildren; twenty-one great-grandchildren and three step-great-grandchildren; twin sister, Burdette Oelrich of Hull, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.        He was preceded in death by his parents, Bert and Hattie Rozeboom; son, Arlin D. Rozeboom; two brothers, John and Jim Rozeboom; and brother-in-law, Chuck Oelrich.        In lieu of flowers memorials are preferred.
