Sibley, IA        Anna Mae Hargens age 99 of Sibley, IA died Wednesday, August 23, 2017 at the Country View Manor in Sibley, IA.        Memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. Monday, August 28th at the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, with Reverend Terry Simm officiating.        Family and friends may gather at the Jurrens Funeral Home on Monday at 9:30 a.m. to process to the Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley for a 10:00 a.m. burial.        Visitation will be Sunday, August 27th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., with family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.        Anna Mae (Heeren) Jacobsma Hargens was born on January 21, 1918 in Sibley, IA, the daughter of Harry and Alice (Sportel) Heeren. She attended a one-room school, Holman #7 through the eighth grade and graduated from Sibley High School. She married Walter Jacobsma on February 1, 1941 and they farmed west of Sibley until his death November 26, 1954. On July 28, 1959, she married Emil Hargens. They farmed near Sibley until his death January 4, 1988, when she moved to Sibley.      Anna Mae worked as a secretary for many years at the Sibley Public Schools, the last twenty-three years as School Board Secretary. She was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, where she accompanied the youth choir, on piano, for many years. Upon her retirement, she enjoyed many hobbies and crafts, but excelled in needlework and quilting. She loved playing cards and dominoes, reading, working in her yard, traveling, and spending time with her friends and family.        She is survived by her two daughters, LoRae (Richard) Dressler of Lake Crystal, MN and VerAnn Kimbrough of Lake Lure, NC; daughter-in-law, Linda Jacobsma of Ham Lake, MN; two stepchildren, Ruth (Jake) Jurrens of Sibley, IA and Robert (Bonnie) Hargens of Lincoln, NE; three grandchildren; seven step grandchildren and many great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Marion Jacobsma of Worthington, MN and Geneva Bonnema of Wilmar, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.        She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Alice Heeren; first husband, Walter Jacobsma; second husband, Emil Hargens; son, Burdell Jacobsma in 2014; and son-in-law, Alexander M. Kimbrough III in 2016.        In lieu of flower memorials may be directed to: First Presbyterian Church of Sibley, IA.
