Sibley, IA Randy Roede age 59 of Pierre, SD, formerly of Sibley, IA died Sunday, September 17, 2017, near Okaton, SD, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 25th at the First Reformed Church in Sibley, with Reverend Luke Schouten officiating. Burial will follow in the Baker Township Cemetery rural Melvin, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, September 24th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., with family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. Randy Ray Roede was born on April 8, 1958 in Sheldon, IA, the son of Herman and Margaret (Walker) Roede. He grew up in rural Sibley and later moved to Sibley where he graduated from Sibley High School. On August 24, 1979, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Jobes in Melvin, IA. To this union three sons were born, Lucas, Jesse and Isaac. Randy later married Terrie Lynn Nissen on June 18, 1997 and welcomed her two daughters, Amber and Abby in to his family. The couple lived in Sibley and Randy worked at Weldons and Chase Bag prior to moving to Pierre, SD, where they have lived the past 15 years. Randy was a member of the South Dakota Game, Fish & Parks, where he worked as a Wildlife Damage Control Specialist. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, trapping, golfing, watching the Twins and Vikings on TV and riding his motorcycle. In his spare time, he guided hunting parties. Randy loved to hunt with his boys and play slow pitch softball in Hartley, IA. He enjoyed preparing meals for his family, especially pulled pork sandwiches. Left to cherish his memory are his three sons, Lucas Roede of Tecumseh, NE, Jesse Roede of Woodstock, GA and Isaac Roede of San Antonio, TX; two step-daughters, Amber (Brent) Unrau of Hartley, IA and Abby (Chad) Camp of Spencer, IA; two grandchildren, Hannah and Elex Roede; seven step-grandchildren and one step-greatgrandchild and one due in November; seven siblings: Sharlene Duis of Ocheyedan, IA, Beatrice (Don) Platt of Sibley, IA, Robert (Joyce) Roede of Sibley, IA, Rose Roede of Spring, TX, Kay Jansen of Sibley, IA, Richard Roede of Sibley, IA and Marlene Roede (Barry Johnson) of Mankato, MN; and many other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents; and his loving wife of 20 years, Terrie Roede, who passed away in an automobile accident along with him; infant sister, Debra and two brother-in-laws, Stanley Jansen and Kenny Duis.
