Terrie Lynn Roede

Sibley, IA        Terrie Roede age 64 of Pierre, SD, formerly of Spencer and Sibley, IA died Sunday, September 17, 2017, near Okaton, SD, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.        Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m. Monday, September 25th at the First Reformed Church in Sibley, with Reverend Luke Schouten officiating.        Burial will follow in the Baker Township Cemetery rural Melvin, IA.        Visitation will be Sunday, September 24th from 2:00 to 6:00 p.m., with family present from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.        Terrie Lynn Roede was born January 11. 1953 in Emmetsburg, Iowa, the daughter of Wayne and Darlene (Roland) Nissen. She was raised in the Ruthven and Terril, IA area until she was a Junior in High School, when her family moved to Spencer, IA. She graduated from Spencer High School in 1971 and continued her education at Larson Cosmetology School and graduated in 1972 and then Iowa Lakes Community College, graduating from the ADN nursing program in 1995.           Terrie was married to Doug Johnson on May 4, 1974 in Spencer, IA and lived in Alta and Spencer. Two daughters were blessed to this union. She worked at Longhouse Nursing Home in Spencer as a nurse for many years. Terrie later married Randy Roede on June 18, 1997 and welcomed his three sons, Lucas, Jesse and Isaac. The couple lived in Sibley, IA, where they remained living until moving to Pierre, SD, where she worked as Coordinator of Nursing Services at OAHE INC.           Throughout the years Terrie enjoyed many things such as having coffee and breakfast with aunts and uncles when she made trips back home to Spencer, slot machines at casinos and especially spending time with her grandkids and her great-granddaughter.           Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Amber (Brent) Unrau of Hartley, IA and Abby (Chad) Camp of Spencer, IA; three step-sons, Lucas Roede of Tecumseh, NE, Jesse Roede Woodstock, GA and Isaac Roede of San Antonio, TX; seven grandchildren; two step-grandchildren and one great-granddaughter and one due in November. She also is survived by three sisters, Diane Lubitz of Seminole, FL, Pam (Don) Nelson of Stillwater, MN and Sandy (Butch) Ramirez of Berthoud, CO; and one brother, Rick Nissen of Spencer, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.           She was preceded in death by her parents; her loving husband of 20 years, Randy Roede, who passed away in an automobile accident along with her; and brother-in-law, Mort Lubitz.
