Beaver Creek, MN Lyla Harnack age 77 of Beaver Creek, MN died Saturday, October 7, 2017 at the Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at First Presbyterian Church in Beaver Creek, MN with Rev. Mike Blank, officiating. Burial will follow in the Flowerfield Cemetery at Hills, MN. Visitation will be Monday, October 9th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Hills. Lyla Mae (Dahl) Harnack was born on May 7, 1940, in Bogue, SD the daughter of Elmer Kermit and Lydia Carol (Kolsrud) Dahl. She spent most of her childhood in the Beaver Creek area where she attended and graduated from Hills-Beaver Creek High School. She later attended college in Mankato, MN for dental assistant before meeting and marrying Arlie Reese in 1960. Their marriage was blessed with five girls. Lyla met and then married Vernon Elmer Lewis Harnack on April 8, 1978. Together they ran the Beaver Creek Steak House until 1979. Vern and Lyla then opened their home as a daycare and became another grandma and grandpa to many young people in the Beaver Creek area. After their retirement, they enjoyed camping and attending many community and family gatherings together. Lyla also enjoyed sewing, crocheting and doing crossword puzzles. Most important in her life was being with her family. Cherishing her memory are: Tammy (Dan) Benson; Shelia Reese Jacobson; Valerie DeSchepper; Dawn (Guy) Klosterbuer; and Traci (Kevin) Harberts. Vern’s children, Ron (Jan) Harnack; Alan (Zoe) Harnack; Karen (Dale) Bosch; Pam (Larry) Franken; along with her many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
