He was the seventh son of William and Katherine (Gacke) Poss. Dallas attended St. Joseph’s Catholic School in Ashton. He was united in marriage to Lorraine (Cook) on October 11, 1954. Through this union Dallas and Lorraine were blessed with six children.      Dallas farmed near Bigelow, MN & Ashton, IA most of his life. For a short time, he worked at Poss Implement while he lived in Sibley. He served his country from Nov. 1952 to Sept. 1954 with a rank Private First Class and served with the Honor Guard during the Korean War. He was a member of the VFW Post and American Legion. Dallas was a member of St. Andrew’s Catholic Church and The Knights of Columbus. In 1994 Dallas and Lorraine moved from their farm near Bigelow to a home in Sibley. Dallas passed away peacefully in his home in the presence of many loved ones following a courageous battle with colon cancer.      His charming smile and usual witty reply combined to give him a wonderful sense of humor. Dallas was an adventurous risk taker. His ingenuity, common sense, know-how, and hard work ethic coupled with a grip wrench and bailing wire solved countless complex problems. His life experiences have become legendary stories for those who love and know him.        Dallas is survived by his wife, Lorraine, of 63 years. Karen and her husband Monte Feldkamp of Sibley; Dan and his wife Susan of Worthington, MN; Wayne and his fiancé Deb Scheidt of Sibley; Larry and his fiancé Catherine Kerkvliet of Larchwood, IA; Joe and his wife Diane of Rochester, MN; Susan and her husband Paul VanWyhe of Rock Rapids, IA.
