Patricia A Jackson

Rock Rapids, IA       Patricia Ann Jackson, 93, of Rock Rapids, Iowa, died peacefully Tuesday, Oct. 17, 2017 at the Sanford Rock Rapids Medical Center in Rock Rapids, Iowa.       Pat’s Celebration of Life will be held at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Rock Rapids, Iowa,  on Saturday, November 4, 2017, at 2:00 PM.       In lieu of flowers please consider a donation to Atlas of Lyon County, 211 First Avenue, Rock Rapids, Iowa, 51246 in Pat’s name.      Pat was born September 8, 1924, in Aplington, Iowa, daughter of Perry and Amber (Swihart) Stow.  Pat moved shortly after birth to Newton, Iowa, where she graduated as her senior high class valedictorian.  Pat attended Iowa State University and graduated with a degree in Child Development with a minor in Chemistry.      On August 7, 1946 she married Galen Dean Jackson.  They lived in St Louis, MO, Omaha NE and Broomall PA before settling in Rock Rapids IA in 1967.  Pat was a home maker and Galen worked for DGR.  Pat was active in her church, Kiwanis and PEO in Rock Rapids.  She loved to garden and bird watch.      Survivors include her son Jay Jackson and his wife Beth of Shoreview MN, their three children Jo (Etter) and Jo’s husband Mike of Roseville MN, Brian and Maddy; daughter-in-law Ginny Jackson of New Holland PA, her two sons, Russell of Idaho Falls, ID and David and David’s wife Susan of Wellsboro, PA, and their three children, Silas, Ben and Sam.      She was preceded in death by her husband Galen; her daughter Gail and her son Phil.
