Rock Rapids, IA Paul L. Reinke, age 83 of Larchwood, IA died Saturday, November 18, 2017 at his home in Larchwood, IA, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 AM, Tuesday, November 21st at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood, IA. Visitation will be Monday, November 20th from 4:00 to 8:00 PM, with family present from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at The Church of St. Mary in Larchwood. There will also be a 7:00 PM Vigil service at the church Monday night. The Jurrens Funeral Home of Larchwood is in charge of services. Paul Lester Reinke was born on May 1, 1934 to Les and Sophia (Clercx) Reinke in Sioux Falls, SD. Paul attended St. Mary’s school. He was a lifelong member of St. Mary’s parish. He entered the U.S. Army in December of 1955 and served his country honorably until his discharge. He returned to Larchwood and married Constance McCarty on May 23, 1959. Together they farmed and raised six children. During the farm crisis, Paul sought employment away from the farm. He was employed by Grand Labs, and subsequent owners from 1983 until March 2016, when he began cancer treatment. Paul will be remembered for his love of farming and livestock. He loved all things John Deere, Ford and Stihl chainsaws. He was always there to lend a helping hand, clearing snow or trees for neighbors and friends. He especially enjoyed visiting at great length with everyone. Paul is survived by his wife of fifty-eight years, Constance Reinke of Larchwood, IA; five children: Sherry (Reinke) and Terry Bolding of Larchwood, IA; Brenda (Reinke) and Dale Miller of Rio Vista, CA; Ann (Reinke) Hoffman of Larchwood, IA, Charles Reinke of Larchwood, IA and Raymond and Mandi Reinke of Sioux Falls, SD; one sister, Josephine (Reinke) Summa of Larchwood, IA; and many other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents and son, Timothy.
