Sharon Chick

     Sharon Chick age 73 of Doon, IA died at her residence Saturday, December 2, 2017 surrounded by her family.      A celebration of life will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, December 9th at First United Methodist Church in Doon, IA, with Pastor Brogan Mohlenkamp officiating.      Sharon LaVonne (Ronngren) Chick was born January 31, 1944, at Jamestown, ND the daughter of Clarence and Josephine (Brehm) Ronngren. She grew up and graduated from high school in Jamestown. She attended the Town and Country Beauty College in Jamestown where she learned to do hair and make-up. This was more of a hobby for her, and never a full-time job. She worked at various places in the Jamestown community, most notably at the North Dakota State Hospital, then called the Trinity Hospital. She also served as a Nurse’s Aide at Central Dakota Nursing Home. Sharon was always very loving and supportive of everyone and was known to constantly give things away, not only to family members, but to complete strangers as well. She moved to Doon, IA in the summer of 1989 to be closer to her older children. She passed away Saturday, December 2, 2017 at her residence, surrounded by family.      She is survived by her brother, Darwin (Dianne) Ronngren of Spokane Valley, WA; daughter, Vanessa Buss-Beaubien of Doon, IA; daughter, Kay Olsen of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Gary (Roxanne) Rau of Munford, TN; daughter, Brandi Luke of Sioux Falls, SD; son, Chris Schaeffer of Luverne, MN; along with 11 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren, and numerous nephews/nieces and great-nephews/nieces.      She was preceded in death by her parents and a son, Jerry R. Rau.
