Aleida Kruger

George, IA     Aleida Kruger age 91 of George, IA died Monday, December 11, 2017 at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls, SD.   Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 14th, at Tabernacle Baptist Church in George, IA with Rev. Bryan Anderson, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George, IA.      Visitation will be Wednesday, December 13th from 4:00 - 8:00 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.      Aleida (Walters) Kruger was born October 8, 1926, on a farm near Ellsworth, MN a twin sister and daughter of George and Grace (Groen) Walters.  She attended country school and at the age of 9 she had her first job.  She was united in marriage to Mearl Kruger on March 8, 1945 at George, IA.  They made their home at various places in southern Minnesota and for most their married life they lived in George.  Along with being a loving wife and mother she worked at Campbells Soup, K-Products and Sather’s for many years.  Aleida was an excellent baker.  Her family fondly remembers her homemade bread and the many sweets, especially her raisin bars.  Along with raising 8 children she also raised a large garden and did a lot of canning.  After Mearl died she missed dancing and listening to polka with him.  This past Monday afternoon, Aleida died at Sanford USD Medical Center in Sioux Falls at the age of ninety-one.       She is survived by her children, Joyce Feldman of George, IA; Gloria (Daryl) Kruse of George, IA; LaDonne (Herman) Stubbe of Inwood, IA; Merwin (Kathy) Kruger of Sheldon, IA; Clifford (Tammy) Kruger of George, IA; Duane (Kim) Kruger of Bremerton, WA; and Ivan (Karen) Kruger of Moses Lake, WA; son-in-law, Rocky Schlichter of George, IA; twenty-one grandchildren; thirty-eight great grandchildren; ten great-great grandchildren; eight brothers, Ed (Lavonne) Walters; Glen (Norma) Walters; George (Donna) Walters; Joe Walters; Darrel (Marge) Walters; Alvin (Joy) Walters; Arvin (LaDonna Talenda) Walters and Ron (Sandy) Walters; and two sisters-in-law, Judy Walters and Kathy Walters.       Aleida was preceded in death by her husband, Mearl; parents, George and Grace; daughter, Wanda; grandson, Aaron Lee; twin brother, Henry Walters; and brothers, Leslie Walters; Ervin Walters and Dick Walters; and sisters-in-law, Daisy, Susan, and Doris Walters.
