Pearl Sundem

Hills, MN     Pearl Sundem age 99 of Hills, MN died Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Tuff Memorial Home in Hills, MN.     Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, December 28th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN with Rev. Maggie Berndt-Dreyer, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Flowerfield Cemetery at Hills, MN.     Visitation will be one hour prior to services on Thursday, December 28th with the family present at Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Hills, MN.     Pearl (Roning) Sundem was born July 23, 1918 in Hills, MN, the daughter of Lars and Ida (Kolsrud) Roning.  She graduated from Hills High School in 1936.  She married Herb Sundem October 17, 1936.  He preceded her in death on January 27, 2007.  After moving from the farm, Pearl worked at the hatchery in Hills and later assisted both Dr. Johnson and Bofenkamp in Luverne for many years.  After retiring she and Herb enjoyed traveling, especially with the Prime Timers.  She also loved playing games, especially cards.  She was a member of the Bethlehem Lutheran Church.  Pearl passed away on Tuesday evening, December 19, 2017 at the age of 99.      Surviving are her son, Terry (Marilyn) of Sherman, IL; daughter-in-law, Dee Sundem of Minneapolis, MN; three grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Marj Roning and brother-in-law, Dutch Schubert.      She was preceded in death by her husband, Herb; son, Vermayne Sundem; brothers, Dennis, Jim, Ray Ronning; sister, Marcie Schubert and grandson Scott Sundem.
