Lester, Iowa Elgeva Knobloch age 89 of Lester, Iowa, died Thursday, December 28, 2017 at Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN. Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2, 2017 at Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, IA. Burial will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Lester, IA. Visitation will be Monday, January 1st with family present from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Apostolic Christian Church Fellowship Hall in Lester. Elgeva Lena Knobloch was born November 8, 1928 near Lester, Iowa, the daughter of Chris L. and Lena (Nester) Kellenberger. She attended country school near Lester. In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Sanford Luverne Hospice Cottage. She was united in marriage to Edwin W. Knobloch on April 13, 1958 at Lester, IA. They farmed near Lester from 1958 to 1967, when Edwin passed away. Five children were born to this union: Carolyn, Shirley, Donna, Vernon and Linda. She was remarried to Edwin’s brother, Arthur E. Knobloch on May 11, 1969 at Lester, IA. One child was born to this union: Loren. They continued farming near Lester until 1994, when Elgeva and Art retired from the farm to Lester Retirement Village. She enjoyed flowers and gardening, sewing, refinishing furniture, quilting, and especially spending time with and serving her family. She was a member of the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester for 61 years. She entered hospice care at the Sanford Hospice Cottage in Luverne, MN, where she remained until her death this past Thursday, December 28, 2017. She is survived by four children, Carolyn (Dale) Hartzler of Rittman, OH, Shirley (Bob) DeSmet of Alvord, IA, Donna (Mike) Barber of Sioux Falls, SD and Linda (Brad) Klostergaard of Beresford, SD and daughter-in-law, Chalea Knobloch (Alvord); twenty-six grandchildren; sixteen great-grandchildren; sister Della Metzger of West Bend, IA and many other extended family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Chris and Lena Kellenberger; her two husbands, Edwin Knobloch and Arthur Knobloch; two sons, Vernon Edwin and Loren Arthur; three sisters, Salome Knobloch, Viola Kellenberger and Alice Metzger; and two brothers, Henry and Ernest Kellenberger; and three infant siblings, Ornan, Mercedes, and Ruby Mae.
