Verna Jane Kruize

    Sibley, IA     Verna Jane Kruize age 89 of Sibley, IA died Sunday, December 31, 2017 at Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA.     Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, January 5th, at St. Andrew's Catholic Church in Sibley, IA with Fr. Matthew Solyntjes & Deacon Kevin Poss co-celebrating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery at Ashton, IA.     Visitation will be Thursday, January 4th from 2:00 - 7:30 p.m. with the family present from 5:00 - 7:30 at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. There will be a Rosary at 4:30 p.m. with a 7:30 p.m. vigil service at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley.     Verna Jane (Stallman) Kruize was born November 18, 1928 at Ashton, IA the daughter of Leonard Stallman and Rose (Dries) Stallman. Verna grew up at Ashton, IA where she attended and graduated from St. Joseph High School. She was united in marriage to Dean W. Kruize, on August 29, 1949 at St. Mary's Rectory in Ashton, IA. This past August they celebrated their 68th anniversary. They made their home at Sibley, IA. Verna spent her married life caring for her family and helping with the family business, Kruize Trucking. She enjoyed spending time with her family. She enjoyed doing puzzles and word searches in her spare time. She lived a faith-filled life and was a member of St Andrew's Church and Guild. Verna entered the Osceola Community Hospital on December 15, 2017 when her health started to decline and she passed away on December 31, 2017.   Verna is survived by her husband, Dean W. Kruize; her children and grandchildren; son, Bill Kruize of Sibley, IA; daughter, Betty (Marlin) Wolter of Ocheyedan, IA; their children, Clark (Jefferie) Wolter, Ellie and Gage; Lesa (Nathan) Leinen, Ava, Autumn and Ambrey, Amy Wolter (Julien Janigo); daughter, Debbie (Kelly) Van Beest of Sibley, IA; their daughter, Shannon; daughter, Karen (Lynn) Roder of Ashton, IA; their children, Brian (Jondle) Roder, Rachel (Ryan) Haskin, Mya and Maxwell; brother-in-law: Herbert Poss and many cousins, nieces and nephews.    She was preceded in death by her parents, Leonard and Rose; sisters, Mildred Poss, LaVonne Knerr and Bernice (Lowell) Reiners; brothers, Virgil (Marge) Stallman, Irving Stallman; parents-in-law, William & Minnie Kruize and sisters-in-law, Arlene (John) Schmidt and Helen (Alvin) Groenewold.
