Luann Heeren

George, IA     LuAnn Heeren age 61 of George, IA died Saturday, January 20, 2018 at at her home in George, IA.     Memorial services will be 2:30 p.m. Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Central Baptist Church in George, IA with Pastor Sean Mustian, officiating.     Prayer service for family and friends will be 1:30 p.m. Thursday, January 25th at the Jurrens Funeral Home in George with burial to follow in the Evergreen Lawn Cemetery at George, IA.     Visitation will be Wednesday, January 24th from 4:00 - 7:30 p.m. with the family present from 6:00 - 7:30 p.m. at the Jurrens Funeral Home of George.      In lieu of flowers, please direct memorials to either the Central Baptist Church or the City of George for bike trail improvements.     LuAnn Heeren was born October 5, 1956, the only child of Lewis Alfred (Looie) and Viola Blanche (Harms) Heeren.  LuAnn attended school in George and graduated from George High School in 1975.      When she was growing up, LuAnn helped at her grandparent’s business, Heeren Produce and also worked at her parent’s business, Looie’s IGA.  Her parent’s sold the grocery store in 1975 and retired.  They purchased a home in Arizona and wintered there.  LuAnn traveled with them to Arizona each winter and accompanied her parents as they traveled around the US.      LuAnn was a lifelong resident of George and lifelong, dedicated member of the Central Baptist Church.   She enjoyed living in the George community.      LuAnn’s extended family will remember her as a very family-oriented, gentle and caring person.  She was a Nascar fan, liked crossword puzzles, enjoyed biking on the trails around George and being outside. She always appreciated the help she received from her family, neighbors, church family and others in George that would assist her with projects around the house.      LuAnn was preceded in death by her parents.  Her extended family will miss her and hold her memory in our hearts.
