Clara Dagel age 85 of Sibley, IA died Wednesday, January 24, 2018 at Sibley Specialty Care in Sibley, IA. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, January 27, 2018 at First Presbyterian Church in Sibley, IA with Rev. Terry Simm, officiating. Burial will follow at Holman Township Cemetery in Sibley. Visitation will be prior to the service, January 27th from 9:30 – 11:00 a.m. with the family present, at the First Presbyterian Church of Sibley. Clara was born January 31, 1932 in East Holman Township Osceola County outside of Sibley, Iowa to Clause and Mary (Timmer) Noor. She received her education at country school near Sibley. In June of 1950 she was united in marriage to Henry Huisinga. The couple made their home in Sibley. Henry passed away in 1965. Clara continued to live in Sibley and in the early 1970’s she began what became a 45-year love and companionship with Rolland Monkemeier. They lived in Sibley. Clara and Rollie enjoyed spending time together by taking rides in the country looking at the crops or going to surrounding towns and finding new places to eat out. They also enjoyed going fishing together. Clara collected tea pots, bells, and angels. She was fond of dogs and owned several stuffed dogs over the years. She loved to feed and watch the squirrels and birds outside of her house. She built several birdhouses over the years, some of which were quite elaborate. A special enjoyment for Clara and Rollie was to light up their house with Christmas lights. Townsfolk would look forward to passing their house and seeing their many lights and decorations. She worked for many years as the head of housekeeping at Country View Manor in Sibley. This past Wednesday, Clara passed away at Sibley Specialty Care at the age of 85. She will be greatly missed. She is survived by her love and companion, Rollie Monkemeier of Sibley, IA; nephews, Ron Huisinga of Sibley, IA and Marlin Huisinga of Bellevue, WA; several nieces and nephews in Sibley and Rapid City, SD; many extended family members. Clara was preceded in death by her parents; her husband Henry Huisinga; and brother, Johnny Noor.
