Sibley, IA John Tracy age 90 of Sibley, IA died Thursday, February 1, 2018 at the Osceola Community Hospital in Sibley, IA. Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 5th at the Jurrens Funeral Home in Sibley. Burial will follow in the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan, IA. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the Jurrens Funeral Home of Sibley. No flowers requested. John Eugene Tracy was born on March 20, 1927, the son of Eugene Charles and Gertrude (Eveland) Tracy. John served in the U.S. Army. John was married to his first wife Delores Ball and to this union two daughters were born Diana and Linda. He then was married to Avis Kruger and Lee Knudson Dorothy in 1981. Early on in his life John worked as a brick layer and worked in the Sioux Falls, SD and Rochester, MN areas. In the early 1970’s he started his own business “Ocheyedan Construction” selling grain bins and buildings and in the late 70’s he moved to Centralia, Washington and opened a body shop. After retiring he moved back to Sibley, IA and has lived here since. John was a member of the Church of Latter Day Saints in Worthington, MN. He was a member of the International Union of Brick Layers. He loved gardening, hunting and fishing in his younger years. John is survived by seven grandchildren: Burke, Tracy, Carrie, Carlton, Ryan, Shawn and Kristine; twenty great-grandchildren: Hunter, Hunter, Jordan, Andrew, Brad, Drayk, Preston, Dexter, Dylan, Katelynn, Breanna, Eathan, Amber, Jasmyn, Jordan, Derek, Carter, Morgan, Kory and Lee; and six great-great-grandchildren; son-in-law, Lee Jensen; two step-children: Sheryl (Mark) Hirshbeel and Janet (Bruce) Harlan; one step-grandson, Damon; three siblings: Dorthea Morgan of Concord, CA, Eugene Tracy of Round Lake, MN and Dick (Janice) Tracy of Rothsay, MN; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family. He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Gertrude Tracy; daughters, Diana Jensen and Linda Wieneke; one grandson, John; two brothers; two sisters-in-law; and one brother-in-law.
