     Michael Burke age 80 of Sibley, IA died Saturday, March 24, 2018 at the Sibley Specialty Care Nursing Home in Sibley, IA.

     Funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Thursday, March 29, 2018 at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church in Sibley with Fr. Siby Punnoose officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Andrew’s Catholic Cemetery in Sibley, IA.

     Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the St. Andrew’s Catholic Church of Sibley.

     Michael William Burke was born November 2, 1937 in Adrian, Minnesota to Edmund and Ethel (Cosgriff) Burke. He graduated from Ellsworth High School and continued his education at the Nettleton Commercial College and earned a degree in accounting. Mike moved to Sioux City to pursue his career and began by working for Knapp and Spencer. He stayed with them from the 1960’s to the 1980’s when they went out of business. He then did books for Super 8 until his retirement. In 2013, Mike became a resident of Sibley Specialty Care.

     Mike enjoyed reading and sports of all kinds. He especially enjoyed watching football, basketball and baseball. Later when he moved to Sibley Specialty Care he learned to enjoy Nascar racing. This past Saturday, Michael Burke passed away at the age of 80. He will be greatly missed.

     He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Tim (Beverly) Heiliger of Sibley, IA, Tom Heiliger of Pagosa Springs, CO, Susan (Martin) Thomas of Beaufort, SC, Nancy (Mark) Bruns of Sibley, IA, Terry Heiliger of Urbandale, IA; cousins; and other extended family members.

     Mike was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Patricia Heiliger; and brother-in-law, Robert Heiliger.
