     Aimee Schlumbohm age 101 of Rock Rapids, Iowa passed away Wednesday, June 5, 2024, at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull, IA.

     Funeral service will 11:00 AM, June 11th at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa with Reverend Matt Polsdofer, officiating.  Burial will follow in the Riverview Cemetery.

     Visitation will be one hour prior to service at the church.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be directed to the Immanuel Lutheran Church of Rock Rapids.

Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids is in charge of services.

     Aimee Schlumbohm, the daughter of George and Martha (Rath) Koll, was born December 21, 1922, at her grandmother's home in Rock Rapids, Iowa. She was raised on a family farm south of Rock Rapids and attended country school. She graduated from Wilson High School in Rock Rapids in 1940. She worked as a secretary for the State of Iowa. 

     While attending a dance in Alvord, IA she met her husband to be, Harold “Bud” Schlumbohm.  They had a love for dancing polkas and waltzes.   They were united in marriage on June 20, 1942, in Wayne, NE.   Following their marriage, they farmed at Inwood and Rock Valley, before moving to Rock Rapids area in 1951. They had 3 children, Lynn, Karen, and Marsha.   In 1960, Aimee began working at Merrill Pioneer Hospital in Rock Rapids as a bookkeeper. She retired after 28 years of service. On November 18, 1990, Aimee’s husband of 48 years, Harold “Bud” died after a brief illness.  

     Aimee was a member of Immanuel Lutheran Church and was active in various church activities.  She had a strong faith in God.  She was secretary of the Golden Age Club.   She enjoyed playing Pinochle. She crocheted numerous blankets for family and friends.  Aimee loved to cook and bake.  She was especially known for her pies and homemade bread.   She was an avid fan of the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, and the Iowa Hawkeyes.   In her early years she had a big garden and raised chickens.   She loved her family and was very proud of all of them.

     Last Wednesday evening Aimee passed away at Pleasant Acres Nursing Home in Hull, IA, at the age of 101. Left to cherish her memory, is a son, Lynn Schlumbohm (special friend, Wilma Miller) of Rock Rapids, IA; two daughters, Karen (Del) Warner of Spencer, IA and Marsha Olsen of Sergeant Bluff, IA; seven grandchildren, Lee (Kristi) Schlumbohm of Harrisburg, SD, Rochelle Warner of Rembrandt, IA, Lance (Jill) Schlumbohm of Rock Rapids, IA, Cory Warner of Sioux Falls, SD, Chris (Laura) Boon of Bennington, NE, Matt (Jenna) Boon of Lincoln, NE and Stephanie (Joey) Pulverenti of Omaha, two step grandchildren, Jacob (Lauren) Olsen, Lenexa KS, and Allyson (Jake) Rider, Clarksville, TN; seventeen great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; many nieces, nephews and other extended family.  

     She was preceded in death by her parents, George and Martha Koll; husband, Harold “Bud” Schlumbohm; daughter-in-law, Judy Schlumbohm; son-in-law, Dennis Olsen; sister, Marvyl Kahl, brother, Howard Koll, brother, Darryl Koll, and sister, Beverly Schmidt.  Aimee was the last living family member in this generation.
