     Alice Cadman, age 78, of Rock Rapids, IA, died Thursday, March 23, 2023, at the Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids, IA.

      A memorial service will take place at 1:00 p.m., Monday, March 27th at First Reformed Church in Rock Rapids, IA, with Pastor Amy Ryals officiating. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery of Rock Rapids.

     Family will be receiving friends and family one hour prior to the service at the church on Monday, March 27th.

Jurrens Funeral Home of Rock Rapids is in charge of services.

     Alice Kay Cadman was born December 7, 1944, in Des Moines, IA, the daughter of James and Doris (Yazel) Meyers. She was raised near Boone, IA, and attended Boone Community School through the 10th grade. She later received her GED as an adult.

     She was united in marriage to Ronald Gene Cadman in Iowa City, IA, and for several years they lived in various communities in the northwest area of Iowa. They later moved to Arizona. In the late 90s, they moved back to Iowa. Alice worked in the area nursing homes as a Certified Nurse’s Assistant and provided housekeeping for assisted living facilities. Alice enjoyed reading, word searches, caring for her cats, and most of all caring for others.

     On October 7, 2004, Alice’s husband Ronald died. She then moved to Rock Rapids, IA. In May of 2021, Alice entered the Lyon Specialty Care of Rock Rapids, where she remained until her death this past Thursday, March 23, 2023.

     She is survived by a son, Chris Cadman of Rock Rapids, IA, and his son Anthony Marchand; daughter, ReNae (Kenny) Leuthold of Rock Rapids, IA, and their children, Nathan (Janelle) Leuthold, Jason Leuthold, and McKenzie (Dalton) Skidmore and their child, Rylie. Also surviving are two children who Alice placed for adoption that became part of her life in later years: Lisa (Brent) Ackart of Cornville, AZ, and Kurt (Jo) Green of Lamonia, IA; as well as four sisters: Kathy (Jerry) Strain of Le Mars, IA, Shirley Housley of Spirit Lake, IA, Connie Sudbrock of Boone, IA and Betty Helland of Spirit Lake, IA; and many nieces, nephews and other extended family.

     She was preceded in death by her parents, James and Doris Meyers; husband of thirty-nine years, Ronald G. Cadman; brothers, Tommy and Richard; and sister, Brenda.
