Alice Ruth Wulf age 96 of Rock Rapids, Iowa formerly of Lester, Iowa died Friday, July 10, 2020 at Lyon Specialty Care in Rock Rapids.
Funeral services will be 10:00 AM Monday, July 13, 2020 at the Apostolic Christian Church in Lester, Iowa. A private family burial including Alice’s children, grandchildren, and 1st generation nieces and nephews will follow in the Apostolic Christian Church Cemetery at Lester.
There will be no public luncheon following the service.
There will be no public visitation prior to the service.
We will be following the social distancing guidelines at the funeral service.
In lieu of flowers, the family prefers memorials to be directed at a later date.
Jurrens Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
Alice Ruth Wulf was born January 24, 1924 on the family farm in Horton Township, Stevens County, Minnesota; the daughter of Benjamin Sr. and Clara (Scheitlin) Moser. She grew up in Stevens County, Minnesota and attended country school. She was nine years old when her father died in a farm accident. After her education, Alice kept house for various families, and was a nanny for the Coleman family. She repented and was baptized on October 17, 1948 in the Apostolic Christian Church, Morris, Minnesota.
On January 8, 1950 Alice was united in marriage to Jacob “Jake” Wulf in Morris, Minnesota. They made their home on a farm near Lester and raised two sons and six daughters. She was a farm wife and helped in all aspects around the farm. She and Jake moved into Lester during a snowstorm in November of 1990.
Alice enjoyed crocheting, gardening, sewing, and singing. Her family will remember her as gentle and hardworking.
Those left to cherish her memory are her children, Madonna (Jerry) Krieger of Sioux Falls, SD, Clara (Doug) Schock of Bloomfield, IA, Colleen (Tom) Dogotch of Morris, MN, Jenell (Roy) Koehl of Morris, MN, Mavis (Mike) Schmidt of Lester, IA, Harlan (Betty) Wulf of Lester, IA, Nola (Walt) Gerst of Oakville, IA, and Albert (Jodi) Wulf of Renner, SD; 24 grandchildren; 40 great grandchildren; brother, Carl (Norene) Moser of Morris, MN; and many extended family.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jake; grandchild, Faith Schock; great grandchild, Matthew Rokey; sisters, Dorothy (Lloyd) Durkee and Corrine (Richard) Schmidgall; and brothers Melvin Moser and Benjamin Moser Jr.
