Allynn "Butch" Van Gelder

     Allynn "Butch" Van Gelder age 73 of Ocheyedan, IA died Saturday, November 28, 2020 at Country View Manor in Sibley, IA.

     A Graveside Committal service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Friday, December 4, 2020 at the Ocheyedan Township Cemetery in Ocheyedan, IA, with Reverend Steve Swenson officiating.    

     Family and friends may gather at the Jurrens Funeral Home Andringa Funeral Chapel in Ocheyedan and process to the cemetery for service.

     Public visitation will be from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday, December 3^rd at the Jurrens Funeral Home Andringa Funeral Chapel of Ocheyedan, IA. Family will not be present and social distancing guidelines will be followed.

     Allynn Van Gelder was born on September 7, 1947 in Sibley, IA, the son of Elmer and Elaine (Tracy) Van Gelder. He grew up in the Ocheyedan area and attended Country school there. Allynn later helped his dad farm and with their plumbing business.

     He was a lifelong member of the United Methodist Church in Ocheyedan, IA.

     Allynn is survived by one brother, Dennis Van Gelder of Ocheyedan, IA, nieces, nephews, and other extended family.

     He was preceded in death by his parents, Elmer and Elaine Van Gelder; uncle, Lenard Tracy; and niece, Mandy Van Gelder.
